What innovations help with the recruitment and retention of health visitors

In Wales, a NHS workforce plan was published in February 2023 and followed by a national retention plan for nursing in the autumn of 2023.

The Evidence Centre was approached to see whether there was any evidence of innovative practice in relation to the recruitment and retention specifically of health visitors, which could be transferable to Wales.
 
A rapid evidence summary was conducted by the Health and Care Research Wales Evidence Centre with the Wales Centre for Evidence Based Care that aimed to identify what innovations could help recruit and retain health visitors in Wales.
 
A search conducted in May 2023 did not find any secondary or primary research evidence that specifically investigated innovations that could help the recruitment and retention of health visitors in Wales, across the UK or internationally. This highlights an evidence gap that future research could fill by developing and evaluating innovations that could help recruit and retain health visitors in Wales.
